Crowds throng Eid events across Qatar
An array of colourful shows at dozens of indoor and outdoor venues offered quality entertainment to a large number of visitors on the second day of Eid Al Adha, including tourists from Kuwait, Oman and Turkey.
Eid festivities were held with fervour from Al Wakrah Sports Club Stadium to Katara Cultural Village and several children-specific attractions drew families to the Summer Entertainment City and various malls across the country.
At Katara, visitors were entertained with a range of amusement activities, especially shadow performances inspired by the region’s history and heritage. Theatre performances based on the ‘Tales of the Arabian Nights’ were the main attraction.
The shadow theatre performances are based on the Arabian tales, the history of the ‘Roman Empire’, ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and the all-time favourite, ‘Aladdin’.
Apart from shadow performances, live acrobatic shows were staged. The organisers also presented gifts to children.
The Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs organised ‘Eid Al Adha Celebrations for Communities’ at Asian Town where Indian and Bangladeshi artistes staged a range of musical and cultural shows.
